This video shows where the starter motor is located in the Ford Explorer and how to proceed if you need to replace it, a very simple operation. As shown, the starter motor is located in the lower left area of the vehicle, near the differential.

Before proceeding with its removal, open the bonnet and disconnect the battery, then go underneath the vehicle and, by unscrewing the relevant nuts, disconnect both power terminals. Next, unscrew the two fixing bolts with a 13mm socket, separate the starter motor from its support, and fit the replacement.
