How to Start a Ford Focus with a Faulty or Flat Remote

When the remote battery is flat, the car no longer detects it for Keyless entry and starting, so here's what to do: to enter the car, use the emergency key by pressing the button that allows you to release it. Look for the physical lock on the driver's door, often hidden under a plastic cover on the door handle. Once inside, the flat remote can still communicate with the car via a short-range RFID reader; just find the right spot to place it: hold the remote with the flat side (where the Ford logo is) in direct contact with the Start button. Press the clutch (or brake if automatic) and the engine should start normally. Alternative positions for the reader can be inside the centre console or next to the steering column.
