How do you replace the key remote battery of a Ford Focus? Follow these steps. Take your remote and use a screwdriver to pry between the key cover and the plastic cap on top of the cover (where the battery sits). Pry until the cap separates from the cover, then remove the worn battery with a screwdriver and take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the battery in the key remote cover and the cap until you hear the locking click. Check the proper functioning of the remote by testing the door lock and unlock buttons.
