How to Disconnect Front Shock Absorber on a Ford C-Max

Disconnect the front shock absorber on a Ford C-Max? Here’s how to do it. Lift the front of the car with a jack, and identify the parts to disassemble. Remove the wheel, then use a socket spanner to unscrew the securing bolts of the shock absorber at the wheel hub (detach the brake line clips with a screwdriver). Lift the front engine cover and unscrew the wiper arm bolts, then remove the plastic cover that conceals the top of the shock absorber. Unscrew the bolts on the side of the shock absorber and pull it out of its housing. Fit the new shock absorber onto the spring using a compression tool. Once everything is fitted, proceed to install the shock absorber back onto the vehicle. Reassemble all the parts in the engine bay.
