In this guide, discover the steps to remove, clean, or replace the EGR valve on the third generation Ford Focus with a 1.6 TDCI engine. First, open the bonnet of your car and locate the EGR valve, which is found at the top of the engine; then unscrew its two fixing screws using a T30 Torx key, as shown in the video.

At this point, disconnect the electrical connector from the valve sensor and remove it; now clean it using a suitable degreaser, or proceed with the replacement!
