Removal and Replacement of Half Shaft

Model: Ford Mondeo / Fusion MK 2 - Years 2000-2007
Part: Axle shaft

This video shows how to remove and replace a half shaft. First, raise the car on a ramp and proceed to extract the affected part; remove the wheel and any components obstructing the removal of the half shaft. Next, unscrew the wheel hub and remove the brake disc from the splines of the joint; to remove the spline joint from the differential, simply lever it off and slide it out. Also, remove the metal seal embedded in the differential and install a new one, ensuring it is seated with gentle taps. Finally, after replacing the part in your half shaft, reassemble everything by following the reverse processes.
