Replacement of Various Cylinder Head Components

Model: Ford Escort MK 4 - Years 1990-2000
Part: Engine

In this video tutorial, various components are mounted on the cylinder head of a Ford Escort engine. In the first section of the video, after verifying the flatness of the cylinder head base with a very thin plastic feeler gauge, the valves are extracted using a special extractor; the valve itself and its seat are lubricated, after which everything is restored. A new camshaft is then inserted. After lubricating the lobes, the camshaft is placed in its housing. Once inserted, it must be locked. A circular gasket is mounted and secured at the end of the camshaft. Next, the toothed wheel is mounted, which is tightened after being correctly positioned; eight new tappets are then inserted: each is housed and tightened. The gaskets for the exhaust manifolds are mounted, after which the manifolds themselves are placed and secured. Using a special tool, the thread of the cylinder head bolts is measured. The old bolts are unscrewed and removed with a special wrench. The housing is cleaned with a blast of compressed air. After purchasing a new pack of ten cylinder head bolts, use the copper paste included in the kit to lubricate each bolt (as shown in the video) to prevent them from seizing. Once each bolt is inserted into its housing, ensure they are properly tightened. The next step is to apply a new cylinder gasket. The cylinder head is then lifted and placed in the engine bay. The cylinder head bolts are the connecting element between the engine block, the head gasket, and the cylinder head. The tightening of these bolts is an important factor for the perfect sealing between the combustion chamber, lubrication and cooling channels, and the air environment. Before removing them, measure and select the thread of the bolts. You can then proceed to purchase a kit of new bolts. Carefully open the package, coat the ends of each bolt with sealant paste (likely included with the kit), and tighten each bolt with a ratchet mounted on an extension. The procedure is carried out with a special torque wrench for controlled tightening. Now take a rubber gasket that needs to be glued to the lower cover of the cylinder head. Use silicone glue to secure it. The cover is then fixed and tightened. Finally, the camshaft is locked laterally with a bush and its cover; the toothed wheels of the timing system and its belt are then mounted and secured. The cylinder head is covered with its cover, ensuring a protective spacer is applied first. Finally, connect the cylinder head to the exhaust pipe.

How to Remove the Original Radio on a Honda CR-V

How do you remove the original radio on a Honda CR-V? First, use a plastic lever to remove the side cover of the radio (the air vents), then, with a screwdriver, unscrew the securing screws located on the sides (if present). After unscrewing the side screws (and disconnecting the clips) of the stereo, pull it out from its slot and remove it (disconnect the various power connectors at the back). To install the new stereo and the various removed parts, proceed in reverse order.
