Replacement of Rear Brake Pads

Model: Ford Escort MK 4 - Years 1990-2000
Part: Brake drums and shoes

First step: lift the vehicle and remove the wheel bolts and the wheel itself. Unscrew the drum screws and remove the drum. Spray the de-scaling fluid inside the shoe assembly for thorough cleaning and remove the retaining springs. Remove both shoes from the support, taking care to note the position of the mechanism with the butterfly links for correct reinstallation. Prepare the new brake pads. Clean and grease the moving parts. Carefully reassemble all parts, including the springs in their respective guides. Secure the pins with the circlips. Refit the remaining springs in their correct positions. Ensure the various components move perfectly. Clean the drum and install it.
