Instructions for Cleaning the EGR Valve

The EGR valve functions to reintroduce some exhaust gases back into the intake; constant contact with exhaust gases tends to dirty it, potentially causing it to jam. To remove it, it is necessary to detach the intake duct and remove the fixing pins of the valve to the exhaust manifold and those of the duct that connects the valve to the intake manifold. Some pins may be stuck, so a traditional hammer and chisel can be used to remove them. Once the valve is removed, clean it with an appropriate cleaner and perform a leak test with a manual vacuum pump before reinstalling it.
