How to Change the EGR Valve in a Ford Mondeo

To replace the EGR valve in a Ford Mondeo, turn off the engine and wait for it to cool completely. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the engine cover and any intake ducts that obstruct access to the valve. Locate the EGR, connected to the intake system and exhaust gas ducts, then disconnect the electrical connector. Free the pipes and clips present, and on versions equipped with a cooled EGR, also disconnect the coolant pipes after lowering the level. Unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the valve along with the old gaskets. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly, fit the new gaskets, and install the new EGR. Reconnect the pipes and connector, reassemble the removed components, and restore the coolant if necessary.
