Guide to Replacing the Alternator

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004

The alternator is not located in an easily accessible area, so you will need to carefully navigate the engine bay.
Start by removing the hose indicated in the video, first from the quick-release side, then from the fixed side. Next, disconnect the power connectors present, marking them if necessary for correct reassembly, and proceed to remove the power steering oil reservoir.
To remove the belt, it is best to have two people working simultaneously from above and below.
Now, unscrew the alternator mounting bolts. Following the video, you will notice that due to limited space, it is necessary to free the engine mount to create the necessary play for the complete removal of the mounting bolts and the alternator.

In cars different from the Ford Focus ST 16V Zetec shown in the video, the procedure may vary.
