How to Reset the Service Light on a Holden Captiva

To reset the service light on a first-generation Holden Captiva, get in the vehicle, insert the key, and turn it to the ON position to power the instrument cluster without starting the engine. At this point, press the accelerator pedal all the way down at least three times within five seconds. Turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds. Turn it back on: the light should be gone. On some versions with a digital menu, use the "Trip" button on the dashboard: scroll to the maintenance option, hold it until the reset appears, and confirm.
