Honda Civic - Video tutorial

Model: Honda Civic MK 5 - Years 1992-1995
Part: Petrol filter
Operation: How to remove and replace the petrol filter

In this video we show you step by step how to change the fuel filter. Open the bonnet and locate the filter and its housing as shown in the video. As a precaution, disconnect the battery cable. Now start by detaching the lower fuel pipe with the two keys. Get a container or rags to stem any spilled gasoline still in the filter. Now loosen the upper screw as well. Pay attention to the copper washers that act as gaskets. Now unscrew the three screws of the support bracket. At this point on your workbench you have the filter still attached to its bracket. Then unscrew the last screw of the support as well, remembering the original position of the filter. In this case, the rust-encrusted screw broke in an attempt to loosen it so it is advisable to spray a little release spray. Once you have freed the old filter, reinstall the new one paying attention also to the arrow indicating the fuel flow. Remember to replace the washers and rubber rings for fixing the support to the bodywork. Moreover, now that you have the filter and bracket still free, it is better to attach the lower tube to avoid doing it with the bracket already fixed because it would be more difficult. Insert the tube by tightening the screw by hand for now. Now attach the holder. Finally tighten the screws of the lower tube always with the two wrenches. Remove the protective cap from the new filter and insert the screw with the tube, taking care to replace the copper washers. After you have reassembled everything, turn the ignition key 3-4 times so that the pump starts and the filter fills up again. Obviously check for any gasoline leaks.
