How to change the engine oil in a Honda Civic

Before discovering how to change the engine oil in a Honda Civic (mk10), remember that this operation requires great care, so ensure the engine is off and has cooled down sufficiently before proceeding. First, lift the car (preferably using a hydraulic jack) and remove all screws beneath the engine compartment to take off the plastic cover. Then, place a container directly under the oil reservoir and unscrew the cap with a 17-millimetre spanner. Allow all the used oil to drain out, then re-screw the cap. Next, locate and remove the oil filter and replace it with a new one. Finally, return to the engine compartment and refill the reservoir with new oil.
