Radiator Replacement Instructions
Model: Hyundai Sonata
EF

It is recommended to perform this repair with the engine cold as it will be necessary to drain the coolant. If you have a pump, you can pressurise the cooling circuit to check for actual leaks from the radiator elements. Once you confirm that the radiator needs replacing, proceed with the disassembly. Lift the vehicle on a ramp and remove the plastic cover under the radiator; remove the drain plug and drain the coolant from the radiator; disconnect the battery as a precaution to avoid damaging the electric fans, and disconnect the relevant power connector; disconnect the hoses and then unscrew the radiator mounting bolts from the crossmember. At this point, you can remove the radiator complete with electric fans, and once on the bench, you will need to transfer the fan assembly to the new radiator, then proceed in reverse for installation. At the end of the installation, refill the cooling circuit with the appropriate coolant.
