How to Remove the Diesel Filter on a Kia Sportage

Replacing the diesel filter is an operation to be done every 25,000 miles at most, to avoid problems with the engine, pump, and injectors. Using specific cleaning additives or treated fuels extends the life of our filter. You may need to replace it if you notice fluctuations in engine speed, loss of power, starting difficulties, etc. To proceed, first park the car safely. Remove the battery and its support, and the air filter. Continue with the ECU and finally disconnect the three connectors from the filter system and the two pipes. Now remove the filter, and you can replace it with the new part. To reassemble, reverse the steps.
