How to Reset the Mercedes 7G Tronic Automatic Gearbox

In this video, you can see how to reset the Mercedes 7G Tronic automatic gearbox 722.9/722.6. The test must be conducted at a temperature of at least 60°C. Start the car without starting the engine, then press the accelerator pedal for 30 seconds: you will need a stopwatch (be very precise) and patience. While keeping the pedal pressed, turn off the car and wait 10 seconds, after which release the accelerator. Now start the engine and wait 1-2 minutes, during which the control unit resets the adaptations. This operation helps resolve harsh shifts, delays in gear changes, or if errors have occurred after a service; it also recalibrates the mechatronics without the need for an OBD tool. However, it will not yield any results if the gearbox has mechanical damage, such as a worn clutch, or if there are electrical faults that require a scanner to be cleared. After performing this operation, it is advisable to drive with progressive accelerations for about fifty miles: this aids in relearning.
