Removing the Thermostat on Mercedes C-Class

Is the car having thermostat issues? Let's see how to replace it. Use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery power cables. Lift the car on a column lift, remove the plastic engine cover using a socket wrench and needle-nose pliers. Open the drain valve and let the water flow out. Open the hood, remove the engine soundproofing panel, remove the hose, then disconnect the sealing cap and pull the thermostat from its housing. Once the part is removed, replace it with a new one and close the housing with the cap. Tighten the bolts securely, and you are done. Ensure the valve is correctly inserted and mounted in the appropriate housing. Refill with the new coolant.
