Water Pump Replacement Instructions

Model: Mercedes Classe C - Years 1983-1993

It is recommended to perform this maintenance with the engine cold to avoid unpleasant burns. Start by draining the coolant through the drain plug located under the radiator. The water pump is driven by the accessory belt and is located at the front, just above the alternator. Loosen the tensioner to remove the belt and free the pulleys. Then, remove the water pump pulley, disconnect the hoses, and unscrew the mounting bolts of the pump to remove it. Clean the pump housing and install the new one by reversing the steps, and finally fill the cooling system with the appropriate coolant.
