Repairing Oil Leak from Heat Exchanger

If you notice an oil seepage next to the oil filter housing where the heat exchanger is located, it is likely that the mating seal has been damaged due to the high temperatures and the action of the chemicals in the oil. To replace the seal, first remove the throttle valve, then unscrew the mounting bolts of the heat exchanger and move it away enough to replace the seal. Do not apply gasket sealant as it may end up in the lubrication system, blocking some passages.
