Mercedes Classe M - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe M W163 - Years 1997-2005
Part: V-belt
Operation: Positioning the belt tensioning pulley

If, with the engine running, you hear a squeak coming from the front part of the engine, it could be caused by some pulley dragged by the auxiliary belt: to be sure you can remove the belt by loosening the relative belt tensioner and start the engine for a few seconds; once you have identified the noisy pulley, that of the belt tensioner in this case, disassemble the pulley itself and check the condition of the bearing; removing the ball protection shows the total absence of grease: then wash the bearing balls with the unblocked spray and then apply some grease and the gasket again; once everything has been reassembled, start the engine and check that the noise has disappeared.
