To reset the automatic transmission of the Mercedes E-Class, turn on the ignition by turning the key in the ignition switch. Once the dashboard lights up, press the accelerator pedal for about thirty seconds.

After that, turn off the ignition and release the pedal. Once this is done, wait a few minutes before starting the car again.

At this point, after starting the engine, drive for about fifteen minutes so that the transmission can readjust to your driving style.
