How to remove the steering wheel airbag on Mercedes B-Class

Model: Mercedes Classe B W246, MK 2 - Years 2011-2019

Disconnect the battery: before starting, it is essential to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid the risk of accidental activation of the airbag. Locate the access holes: behind the steering wheel there are usually holes or openings through which the springs or stops holding the airbag in place can be reached. Release the stops: using a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool, gently press on the stops or springs through the access holes to release the airbag from the steering wheel. Remove the airbag: once the stops are released, the airbag should be free to be gently pulled out of the steering wheel. Disconnect the connectors: behind the airbag there will be electrical connectors connecting it to the vehicle system, disconnect these connectors carefully.
