How to Replace the Turbocharger on an Opel Astra H

If you notice a loss of power, smoke from the exhaust, and a strange whistling from the engine bay, it means the turbocharger has failed, located at the front of the engine, just below the oil level dipstick; to replace it, first allow the engine to cool down. Start by removing the intake duct, throttle body, the hose connecting the air filter box to the turbocharger, the heat exchanger, the exhaust manifold, and the air conditioning compressor to create the necessary space for extracting the turbocharger complete with the catalyst.
