Operation: How to remove the alternator belt of the Opel Astra H 1.6

To remove the alternator belt we need: a combination wrench no. 19, a torx key No. T25, a ratchet wrench and a wrench to remove the staples. It is advisable to carry out this operation with the car raised. Remove the front wheel on the passenger side, with a T25 torx wrench unscrew the 3 screws and remove the clip that hold the wheel arch stone guard (passenger side) so that we can begin to observe the belt; with a combination wrench size 19 we loosen the tension on the belt tensioner by turning the wrench a little anti-clockwise; in this way, by moving the belt tensioner a little, you can begin to remove the belt and consequently reposition the belt tensioner. BELT ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM: The belt must be passed to the right of the belt tensioner, to the left in the upper gear (upper left of the belt tensioner), to the right part in the upper gear (upper right of the belt tensioner), to the right in the low gear (bottom right of the belt tensioner), on the left side in the low gear (bottom left of the belt tensioner). At this point we can reassemble the stone guard of the wheel arch by screwing the 3 screws and inserting the clip previously removed, then reassemble the wheel. Finally, let the engine run for a few minutes at idle speed.
