How the Oil Life is Calculated on the Opel Astra K

In this video, you will learn how the oil life is calculated on the Opel Astra K. When you see this indication on your display, remember it refers to the oil life and not its level, so even at 0%, the engine oil may still be at its maximum level. The oil life percentage decreases based on two main factors: time or distance travelled, and the value will drop by 1% every 3 to 4 days even if the vehicle is not used. If you cover many miles, the value will reach zero before the expected period. Other factors can affect oil life, such as intense use, perhaps due to many short trips or extreme external temperatures. When the oil life approaches zero, you must change the lubricant, but remember to also reset the maintenance light by pressing the right arrow on the steering wheel and then selecting "reset".
