In this video we see something very interesting: how the oil duration is calculated on the Opel Astra K. When we see this indication on our display, we remember that it refers to the life of the oil and not its level, so even at 0% the engine oil could be at its maximum level. The percentage of life decreases based on two main factors: time or distance traveled, and the value will decrease by 1% every 3/4 days even if the car is not used. However, if we cover many kilometers, the value will reach zero before the expected period. Other factors can also affect the oil duration, such as intense usage, perhaps for many short trips or extreme external temperatures. When the oil duration approaches zero, we must proceed with an oil change, but remember to also reset the maintenance indicator by pressing the right arrow on the steering wheel and then selecting "reset".

How to unlock the fuel filler flap on Volkswagen Golf 7
