Peugeot Boxer: How to Reset the Fuel Pump Safety Switch

When the Peugeot Boxer experiences a strong impact or vibration, it may trigger the fuel supply safety cut-off, preventing the engine from starting. You need to reset the switch that disables the fuel pump. First, park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the handbrake, and turn off the ignition. Work in the footwell on the passenger side by removing the mat and slightly moving the carpet to expose the metal panel and the wiring harness near the centre tunnel. The safety switch is identified as a black cylindrical body fixed to the bulkhead, with an electrical connector at the bottom. Reach down to the bottom of the switch and press the small reset button firmly until you feel a click; this will close the circuit supplying power to the fuel pump. After the reset, return to the driver's seat, turn on the ignition, and attempt to start the engine; if it starts normally, the fuel cut-off error has been resolved.
