Location of the Inertia Switch on the 2017 Peugeot Boxer

The inertia switch on the Peugeot Boxer is located on the right side of the vehicle (for left-hand drive) and on the left side (for right-hand drive). You will need to remove the lower side panel in the passenger compartment, near the door. It is positioned high up, close to the body structure, usually secured with one or two screws. It is a small rectangular or square module with an electrical connector and a reset button (a red or black button). The inertia switch cuts off the fuel pump supply in the event of a collision or accident to prevent fires, but it can also trigger from severe jolts or if the vehicle is jolted abruptly. If it triggers, the engine will not start until it is manually reset. To reset it, switch off the engine and remove the key from the ignition, locate the switch, press the reset button, replace the panel, and try to start the engine.
