Dismantling the Cabin Heater Radiator

Model: Peugeot 406 MK 1 - Years 1995-2005

The internal radiator for the cabin heater is located behind the centre console: to access it, first remove the glove compartment from the passenger side: start by removing the small door by extracting the plastic pins from the hinges; then proceed to dismantle the glove compartment by removing the relevant fixing screws (some screws may be difficult to unscrew due to their position; you will need to remove the side cap of the dashboard) and the power connector for the interior light; at this point, remove the covering of the centre tunnel. Now you can access the radiator, but to unscrew the Torx screw securing the pipes, you will need the appropriate tool or it is suggested to drill a hole in the plastic of the console to access the screw (once everything is reassembled, the hole will not be visible).
Before disconnecting the pipes, lift the carpet and remove the drain plug to allow the fluid to drain. Finally, unscrew the fixing screws of the radiator and extract it from its housing.
