How to Replace the Engine Oil Filter on a Peugeot 2008

This guide shows how to replace the engine oil filter and oil in your car. First, open the bonnet and unscrew the oil filler cap. Then, lift the vehicle and ensure it is stable. Use a hex key to unscrew the oil reservoir cap and drain the fluid into a container. Wait for the reservoir to fully empty, then use the filter removal tool to unscrew the filter next to the oil reservoir. Be careful during this step as oil may spill from the filter housing. Once the old filter is removed, let the residual lubricant drain. Clean the filter housing of any fluid residue, and after lubricating the o-ring (the seal) of the new filter with a bit of engine oil, screw the new part back on to the specified torque. Refit the reservoir cap (to the specified torque) and clean up any oil spills. After lowering the vehicle, fill the reservoir with new oil (check the lubricant type in the manual) and check the level with the dipstick. Enter the cabin and reset the service light. To do this, press and hold the "000" button (on the dashboard) and turn on the ignition; wait for the display to count down and show the initialisation message, then turn off the ignition. Start the engine for a few minutes to circulate the oil; turn off the engine and check the fluid level with the dipstick (it should be at the maximum level). Check for any leaks.
