How to Replace the Battery in a Peugeot 208

To change the battery, first open the bonnet and disconnect the negative terminal, ensuring it does not make contact accidentally. Then, detach the positive terminal clamp. Next, remove the control unit by simply pulling it upwards. You need to press the latch on the side, lift the block, and extract it. Then take a flat-head screwdriver, leverage it to pull out the plastic tab, and remove the battery. Use sandpaper to scrape the inside of the terminals to remove oxidation and prevent long-term failures. Take the new battery and apply copper grease to the terminals to improve contact with the clamps and prevent oxidation. Insert the battery, ensuring it fits snugly in place. Reinsert the plastic block you removed earlier. Reinsert the control unit by sliding it into the appropriate guides. Reconnect the positive terminal first by inserting it and lowering the locking lever. Finally, connect the negative terminal.
