A common issue on the Peugeot 206 is the alarm system indicating a fault when starting the vehicle; you might think it’s a key recognition failure, but in most cases, the problem persists even with the spare key. Check the BSM, which is the engine control unit located in the engine bay that manages various electrical functions, including power to the spark plugs, injectors, and fuel pump.

If the issue isn't from the BSM, check the BSI, the internal electronic control unit located inside the cabin, which is responsible for activating the alarm in case of theft.
