Let's see how to remove the starter motor on a Porsche 911. First, use a socket wrench to disconnect the battery power cables. Lift the car on a column lift, then remove (with a socket wrench and pliers) the engine soundproofing panel along with the attached cables. Disconnect the starter motor power terminals using pliers or a screwdriver depending on the pressure of the tabs, unscrew the starter motor mounting bolts with a socket wrench, and remove it from the engine compartment. Finally, install the new starter motor with the power cables and the associated mounting screws. Porsche 911.
