Brake Pad Replacement

Model: Porsche Boxster 986, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004

Before lifting the vehicle, loosen the wheel mounting bolts; then lift the vehicle and complete the removal of the wheel where the repair will take place. Remove the safety pin from the locking pin of the brake pads and extract the pin using a proper punch tool. Disconnect the wear sensor and the retaining spring. Pry the old pads to retract the caliper piston and create enough space to remove the old pads and insert the new ones. Then install the new pads, the wear sensor, reposition the retaining spring, and then the mounting pin and its safety pin. Remove any debris on the brake rotors, reattach the wheel, and pump the brake pedal until it provides the correct resistance.
