Instructions for Replacing Water Pump

Model: RAM 1500 D1, DC, DH, DR, DM, MK 3 - Years 2002-2009
Part: Pump

It is recommended to perform this maintenance with the engine cold since you will need to drain the coolant. The water pump is mounted at the front of the engine block and is driven by the auxiliary belt: disconnect the hoses from the pump (liquid will obviously spill out), loosen the tensioner of the auxiliary belt to free the water pump pulley, and proceed to remove the alternator and cooling fan to access the mounting bolts of the pump itself; once the old pump is removed, thoroughly clean the mating surface, insert the new gasket, and proceed in reverse to complete the installation.
