How to Remove the Alternator from a Renault Clio

Model: Renault Clio MK 3, Clio 3, Clio III - Years 2005-2013

Removing the alternator on this model of car is similar to all other models equipped with the 1.5 dCi engine: the alternator is located at the front left of the engine bay when viewed from the front, next to the oil filter. Start by disconnecting the battery, then remove the right front wheel and the relevant wheel arch liner to access the tensioner of the auxiliary belt, which must be removed from the pulleys. Place a jack under the engine as you will need to remove the side support to allow for the complete removal of the alternator.
