When the Instrument Cluster of the Renault Master Doesn't Work

In this video, we see the instrument cluster of a Renault Master that does not register speed, neither on the dashboard nor on the tachograph. A self-diagnostic test of the speedometer is performed by holding down the reset button while turning on the ignition: the dashboard performs an automatic test: all indicators and needles move from the "0" position to maximum. If the needle does not move or gets stuck, the problem is likely in the electromagnetic motor of the gauge. In the video, the dashboard passes the test, so the issue is not with the instrument itself, but with the wiring or connectors, the speed sensor (on the axle or in the differential), or, though unlikely, the instrument control unit. The problem is almost always electrical, so check the wiring and connectors for wear or corrosion.
