Front Shock Absorber Replacement
Model: Renault Megane
Megane 1
- Years 1995-2003
First, engage the handbrake. Remove the wheel cover and loosen the wheel bolts. Lift the vehicle and secure it with a jack stand. Now you can unscrew and remove the wheel. Next, unscrew the brake pipe support bracket. Loosen the lower support bolts, carefully freeing the shock absorber from the hub to avoid damaging the CV boot. Move to the upper support, noting the correct position of the bolts before removing them. As you loosen the second bolt, you will need to support the shock absorber from underneath. Check that the replacement part is compatible with the old one. Now, proceed to remove the spring. This operation requires utmost attention, as an accidental release of the compressor could cause serious injury to yourself or others. Lubricate the threads of the compressor. Position the first bracket while slightly compressing the spring. Place the second bracket on the opposite side and begin compressing the spring until you feel some play in the upper plate. Remove the cap and unscrew the nut while holding the central bolt with a second spanner. Remove the plate and extract the shock absorber, from which you will then remove the bellows boot and the bearing ring at its base. From now on, proceed in reverse by reinserting the ring and the boot onto the new part. Reposition the two plates at the end of the spring and insert the shock absorber. Refit the nuts, replacing the rubber cap. Loosen the spring by unscrewing the two brackets. Check the correct position of the spring on the plate. Secure the shock absorber to the upper support and then to the lower one according to the specified torque. Refit the brake pipe bracket and then the wheel with the wheel cover. Follow the same procedure for the shock absorber on the opposite side. Car model: Renault Megane
Required tools: Socket wrenches, Torx, Spring compressor, Torque wrench

How to Remove the Brake Disc on Mitsubishi Pajero
How to remove the brake disc along with the brake pads on a Mitsubishi Pajero? First, lift the vehicle on a column lift to a suitable height for working. Next, remove the wheel (using a telescopic spanner or air drill) with the respective bolts. Undo the locking bolt of the brake caliper, and remove it from the caliper support. Remove the caliper support from the wheel hub using a socket spanner. Once the brake disc is free, undo the screws with a fixed spanner and detach the disc from the wheel hub. Disconnect the various wiring and brake fluid pipes from the wheel assembly. Replace them with new parts (always use original and compliant parts). Prepare to install the new disc along with the respective pads, brake caliper, caliper support, etc. by ScegliAuto More videos
