Learn how to replace the auxiliary belt on a Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI: you will need a long 16 mm socket, a locking pin, a jack, and axle stands to access from underneath, as well as a new auxiliary belt which can be found on auto-doc.it with code 6PK1210 for £13.39 + £9.95 shipping. For safety, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the air hose and move the fuel filter without disconnecting the pipes. Lock the tensioner using the 16 mm socket to rotate the tensioner clockwise. Insert a pin into the two holes of the tensioner to lock it in the "relaxed" position. Remove the old belt by sliding it off the pulleys (starting from the alternator). To fit the new belt, follow the diagram usually printed in the user and maintenance manual; if you can't find it, take a photo of the belt before removing it. Place the belt on the crankshaft pulley from underneath, and route it over the alternator and power steering pump, leaving the tensioner for last. Rotate the tensioner again with the socket to loosen it and attach the belt. Remove the locking pin to check that the belt is centred on all pulleys. Start the engine and check for any squeaks or abnormal movements.
