As shown in the video, the alternator on the Seat Ibiza 6L is located at the front of the engine, connected to the auxiliary belt. It is mounted low on the right-hand side, passenger side, for the 1.0 TSI/1.2 TSI petrol engines, near the oil tray, while for the 1.6 TDI engines, it is positioned in a similar area but with a slightly different layout.

With the engine running, the charging voltage is 13.8/14.4. The typical power output is 120/140 A (depending on the trim and electrical options). It powers the battery and electrical systems (headlights, air conditioning, control unit).

Symptoms of failure include the battery warning light illuminated on the dashboard, dim or flickering lights, and metallic noises from the belt or worn bearings.
