Skoda Octavia - Video tutorial

Model: Skoda Octavia 1U, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004
Part: Oil filter
Operation: Engine oil and fillter replacement

To facilitate access to the oil pan, it is first of all recommended to lift the car on a lift or on suitable car platforms; the drain plug for exhausted oil is located in the rear part of the sump: therefore remove the lower cover, then place a pan to collect the oil, unscrew the plugs and screw it back on after completing the drain. The oil filter, on the other hand, is a cartridge type and is located in the upper part of the engine, near the throttle body: remove the cover placed at the head of the cylinder block, intercept the plastic nut of the filter container cap and unscrew it , extract the old filter and apply the new one, also replacing the o-rings. Finally, fill the engine with new oil.
