Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Skoda Octavia 1U, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004

To facilitate access to the oil sump, it is recommended to first lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift or suitable car ramps; the drain plug for the used oil is located at the rear of the sump: remove the lower cover, then position a container to collect the oil, unscrew the plug, and re-screw it after draining is complete. The oil filter is a cartridge type and is located at the top of the engine, near the throttle body: remove the cover on top of the engine block, locate the plastic nut of the filter housing cap and unscrew it, extract the old filter and apply the new one, also replacing the O-ring seals. Finally, fill the engine with new oil.
