To prevent dirt and dust from entering the ventilation system of the Skoda Octavia 1U, a filter is installed on the external air intake. After fifteen thousand miles, it is good practice to replace it to ensure efficiency.

Open the engine bay, detach the portion of the seal from the drip tray on the passenger side, remove the grille under the windscreen, pull out the old filter, and take off the plastic frame. Install the new filter element in the frame, clean the housing with a vacuum, replace the filter, and reassemble the grille and seal.
