Oil Change on a Subaru XV

Change the engine oil on a Subaru XV. Open the car door and pull up the lever to open the engine compartment, then lift the front bonnet and secure it with the provided prop rod. Remove the soundproofing panel from the engine (if fitted), then use a socket or strap wrench to remove the oil filter.

Extract the worn filter and insert a new one. Lift the car with a jack, unscrew the drain plug from the oil sump.

Allow all the oil to drain into a container. Screw in the drain plug, and top up the engine with new oil.
