Let's see how the hybrid battery of the Suzuki Ignis is recharged: it is a full Hybrid vehicle, so it does not recharge via a plug, but automatically while driving, harnessing energy that would otherwise be wasted. The most efficient method is regenerative braking: when lifting off the accelerator or pressing the brake, the electric motor becomes a generator that captures the kinetic energy of the slowing car, charging the battery.

On the dashboard, we will see an arrow pointing from the wheels to the battery. Another method is coasting, by releasing the accelerator pedal while driving, for example when going downhill, or approaching a red light.

This way, the wheels continue to turn the electric motor, acting as a generator and charging the battery: again, we will see the arrow from the wheels to the battery on the display. But the battery also recharges with the internal combustion engine, when the battery is very full, or during strong acceleration.

The best way to make the most of the hybrid is still by driving smoothly, avoiding sudden accelerations and abrupt braking.
