In this video we can see how to replace the drive shaft from the driver's side of a Toyota Corolla: the drive shaft is the component that allows the engine power to be transmitted to the driving wheels, keeping the rotation speed constant, even when the wheels change rotation during a turn: first, we remove the driver's side wheel and lift the car; we remove the drive shaft nut, then we remove the nuts that fix the joint to the wheel, and separate the wheel hub from the joint and move it from its seat using a pry bar and pull it out of its housing. We take the new one - which we may have found for example on E-Bay with the code 131701858726 at the price of 34.16 pounds + 15.72 pounds of shipping costs and an estimated 13 pounds of import fees. We recommend checking the compatibility of the part with your vehicle before making the purchase - insert it in its place and secure it with a rubber hammer. Coat the grooves with anti-seize paste and reposition it in the wheel bearing and hub. Reassemble the locking nuts, then the drive shaft nut and finally the wheel. Lower the car back to the ground and it's done.
