Let's see how to deactivate the passenger airbag on a Toyota Highlander: this operation becomes necessary when installing a rear-facing child seat on the front seat. We open the front passenger door and look on the side of the dashboard, near the door. We should see a dedicated key lock, marked with the "airbag off" icon. We insert the physical key of our car into the lock and turn it to the "off" position. A light on the dashboard will confirm that the passenger airbag has been deactivated. To reactivate it, we simply repeat the operation by turning it to the "ON" position, and the light on the dashboard will turn off.
