How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on a Toyota Corolla

Model: Toyota Corolla MK 4, E170, E160 - Years 2013-2019

To change the oil filter and engine oil, follow these steps: Start by raising the front of the car, open the bonnet and secure it. Remove the plastic engine cover from the top of the engine, unscrew the oil filler cap, and lift the dipstick. Go underneath the car and locate the oil sump, unscrew the oil drain plug, placing a container underneath to catch the oil. Once the oil has drained, clean the plug and refit it. Next to the sump plug, you will find the oil filter, which you will unscrew using a socket wrench, again placing a container underneath to catch any oil. Take the new oil filter out of its packaging, apply some oil to the seal of the new filter, and screw it back into place. Now, go back to the top and using a funnel, pour in the specified litres of oil. When you are close to the required amount, check the level using the dipstick (insert it, remove it, clean it, reinsert it, and check). If the level is not at the "max" mark, top it up; otherwise, the operation is complete. Lower the car and close the bonnet.
