Ignition Coil Replacement Instructions

Model: Toyota Avensis MK 1, T220 - Years 1997-2003

If the engine struggles to start or runs very unevenly during the starting phase, the fault may lie with the spark plugs, the leads, or even the ignition coils. In this case, the engine warning light may also illuminate, and the fault memory may contain an error code related to the coils (there is one coil for every two cylinders). To replace the coil, disconnect the power supply and the spark plug leads. Then, unscrew the fixing bolts and proceed in reverse order to install the new coil.
