This video shows how to replace the license plate bulb on a Toyota Fortuner/Hilux: insert a small screwdriver into the hole located between the body and the small license plate light cover. Leveraging with the screwdriver, hold it from the other side to prevent it from falling. At this point, you can replace the bulb; it can be replaced with another incandescent bulb or an LED. To reinstall the light cover, simply place it back and press it so that the two metal clips secure the plastic part in place.
