Let's see how to overhaul the brake pump: the first thing to know is that you need to be very careful in handling the brake fluid, because it corrodes the paint. To proceed, we will first have to disconnect the brake pipes with the special tool, because a normal wrench would damage the hex nuts. We must then disassemble the piston stop screw; we push it all the way and disassemble the screw and its gasket. Now we have to inspect the master cylinder, and we gradually clean the disassembled parts with compressed air. There must be no scratches or corrosion inside the cylinder. If there are, the cylinder must be replaced. We inspect the plunger and rubbers, which must not be worn. The rubber parts that we are going to replace will be greased with glycolic grease. We install the master cylinder, but first we need to adjust the length of the booster push rod. Lastly, let's fill up the brake fluid reservoir and bleed the system. If the cylinder has been replaced or repaired, we must necessarily bleed the air from the system after adding the brake fluid.
